James Fox ObituaryVisit the North Brevard Funeral Home & Crematory website to view the full obituary.James Webb Fox, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud Navy veteran, passed away peacefully in Titusville, Florida, on March 5, 2026, at the age of 92.Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, he answered the call to serve his country at a young age and dedicated nearly three decades to the United States Navy, including during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Although frequent separation from family was challenging, he spoke fondly of life at sea, the ships he served on, and the countless ports and countries he visited around the world. Through commitment, leadership, and steadfast service, he rose through the ranks and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer (MCPO), one of the Navy's highest enlisted honors.Beyond his distinguished service, he was most proud of the family he helped build with Jeanne, his beloved wife of 70 years. Together, they raised four children and created a family that grew to include eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life with family, whether working on a jigsaw puzzle or watching a movie of any genre. A lifelong Cubbies fan, he was passionate about baseball, kept up on stats and players, and happily shared memories of attending games at Wrigley Stadium in his youth. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children Kathy Bugar, Debbie Ridley (Ed), James Fox, Jr. (Becki), and Kristine Fox (Scott); grandchildren Rachel Hutcheson (Wade), James Hickman (Sheila), Joshua Hickman (Kristen), Travis Bugar, Krista Dalton (Justin), Jenn Ridley-Cupp (Ryan), Abby Fox, and James Fox, III; great-grandchildren Logan Hutcheson (Michaela), Chelsea Hutcheson, Austin Hickman, Zachary Hickman, Connor Hickman, Matthew Hickman, Cody Hickman, Ellis Dalton, and Mirah Dalton; and great-great granddaughter Emmalyn Hutcheson. In keeping with his wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. His ashes will be interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Disabled American Veterans organization.Fair winds and following seas, Master Chief. Your watch is complete, and the generations you helped shape will carry your legacy forward.Read The Full ObituaryTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
