James V. Bertola

James V. Bertola, 93, of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Country Care Manor. Born on August 8, 1932 in Monessen, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Chris and Mary Consenery Bertola. A lifelong resident of Monessen, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired as a millwright from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen after 43 years of dedicated service. He took great pride in maintaining his home, often spending time on renovations and tinkering projects, and found joy in listening to the music of the 1970s and 1980s.

Above all, James was a devoted and loving “pap” to his granddaughter, Francesca. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Carl Fronzaglio of Belle Vernon, his son James D. Bertola of Monessen, his brother and sister-in-law Chris L. and Glenna Bertola, his sister Rose Ann Bridge of Monessen, and his granddaughter Francesca Fronzaglio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry A. Wall Bertola, who passed away on January 19, 2026.
