Mr. James Thomas Myrick, age 85, and a resident of Martin, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Obion County Nursing Home in Union City, TN.James was born on November 17, 1940, in Martin, TN, to the late Joe Hunt Myrick and Katie Belle Irving Myrick.He was an active member of Martin First Baptist Church, he also taught Sunday school, participated in Discipleship training, and served as an Ordained Deacon at Southside Baptist Church for 35 years. He was a retired printer with nearly 40 years of experience, working at The Weakley County Press for 7 years, Union City Printing for 15 years, and The University of Tennessee in Martin for 17 years until 2003. A graduate of Martin High School, Class of 1958. He married the love of his life, Pat Breeden Myrick, on February 3, 1962, in Metropolis, IL. He enjoyed painting, especially landscapes, researching World War II aviation history, and most of all, James was known for his dry sense of humor.James is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Myrick of Martin, TN; one son, Randy Myrick of Martin, TN; three grandchildren, Georgia (Drew) Mann of Gallatin, TN, Katie (Eli) Mason of Gallatin, TN, and Meagan (Dan) Gilbertson of Boise, ID; four great-grandchildren, Levi Mason of Gallatin, TN, Madeline Gilbertson of Boise, ID, Georgia Laveau Mason of Gallatin, TN, and Caldwell Mann of Gallatin, TN.In addition to his parents, Mr. Myrick is preceded in death by two brothers, David Myrick and Robert Myrick.Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service in our funeral chapel.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm, in our funeral chapelBro.
