James Theron Flynn III was born on January 22, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia. He passed Sunday, March 1, in Orlando, Florida. He was the son of the late Dr. James Theron Flynn Jr. and the late Margaret Linton Flynn Benzing. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret “Margie” Linton Flynn.
Jim worked for Airborne Express in Atlanta, Nashville, and Orlando for 13 years. In 1989, after relocating to Orlando, he founded Business Archives, Inc., a successful document storage company where he served as CEO for 28 years.
Jim lived life large and on his own terms. He enjoyed tennis (playing and watching), motorcycles, racing modified stock cars, collecting classic cars, and woodworking.
He was a wonderful husband and proud father. He was also a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Jim loved being with family and friends. He was kind, supportive and generous.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Marcela Daryl Flynn; his son, James David Flynn of Melbourne, FL; his sister, Jean Flynn Brown of Thomasville, GA; as well as five nieces, four nephews, eight great-nieces, one great-nephew and six in-laws.
A memorial service to honor Jim's life will take place on Saturday, March 14, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He will be laid to rest at Highlands Memorial Gardens in Apopka, Florida.
