James Stollings, 84, of Chattaroy, West Virginia, passed away on March 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 28, 1941, in Stone, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Clifford and Mary Elizabeth Hunt Stollings.
James served his country in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Corporal. After his military service, he worked for many years in the appliance repair department at Sears in Williamson. Following 17 years with Sears, he retired and opened his own business, Stollings Appliance Repair. He eventually retired again and spent his later years enjoying life with his beloved wife, Naomi. The couple shared 62 wonderful years of marriage and raised a loving family together.
His greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren, whom he loved unconditionally. James was preceded in death by his infant son, James David Stollings; brothers Wendell, Larry, and Milford Stollings; and sisters Linda Brown and Greta Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Sammons Stollings; daughters Veronica Francis of Paintsville, Kentucky, and Jamie (Steve) Gannon of South Williamson, Kentucky; grandchildren JT Francis, Ryan (Sheyanne) Gannon, and Kendall (Steve) Hatfield; great-grandchildren Jayce Francis, Alaina Gannon, Rylan Gannon, Keely Hatfield, River Hatfield, Cecilia Kennedy, Paislee Mounts, and Rhett Mounts; and siblings Jerry Stollings, Stella Elkins, and Gloria Wallace.
