James Sidney “Sid” Rutledge, Sr.

James Sidney “Sid” Rutledge, Sr., 84, of Wellford, passed away on March 6, 2026, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born on June 29, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Martha Glynn Crymes Rutledge and Charles Tillman Rutledge, Sr.

Sid was a skilled mechanic who worked at Spartan Undies for more than twenty years before establishing his own business, Rutledge Enterprises. He was a longtime Mason and member of Lodge 201 AFM in Inman, South Carolina.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Halie Rutledge, Bradley Rutledge, and Amber Ferguson; his great-grandchildren, Aiden, Blyth, Julie Anne, Jaidyn, Cincere, Leviticus, Natilyne, and Kyler; and his brother, Ronnie Rutledge (Ann). Sid was predeceased by his sons, James S. Rutledge, Jr., David E. Rutledge, and Matthew N. Rutledge, as well as his brother, Charles Tillman Rutledge, Jr.
