James "Ron" Ronald Hill, 75, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, James later made his home in Alabama, where he built a long and respected career in the construction industry. He attended Auburn University, studying Building Science and laying the foundation for a lifetime dedicated to shaping communities through his work.Throughout his career, James worked with respected firms including Brasfield & Gorrie and Taylor & Miree Construction. He took great pride in the many projects he helped bring to life across Alabama and beyond. Among his favorites were the Birmingham Zoo, Vestavia Hills High School, Wald Park, and Sarasota Hospital. His commitment to quality craftsmanship, integrity, and teamwork left a lasting mark on the communities he served and the colleagues who worked alongside him.James was known for his steady work ethic, his pride in a job well done, and above all, his deep love for his family. A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pelham, he lived his life guided by strong values, passion, and ambition.He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Hill Sr. and Mertice Hill; his brother, William Earl Hill; and his daughter, Carly Hill Cisnernos.He is survived by his devoted wife, Maxsena Collins Hill; his brother, JD Hill Jr. (Eva); his sister, Gayle Hill Cochran (Robert); his children, James Ronald Hill Jr. (Jessica), Kaitie Hill Chapman (James), and David Allen Hill; and his son-in-law, Martin Cisnernos. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Coston, Norah, Parker, Aiden, Sadie, Ridge, Maverick, Caroline, Laila, Evie, and Arya.He is further survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: John David Hill III (Season), PR Hill (Amy), Susan Hill Coley (Keith), Brian Hill (Sally), Paige Cochran, and Lindsey Cochran Yoo (Shawn), along with their families and loved ones who will continue to honor and cherish his memory.James will be remembered for the structures he helped build, the integrity with which he worked, and the love he gave so freely to his family.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Pelham Missions in his memory.Funeral services will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home, 2209 East Broad Street, Gadsden, Alabama on Friday March 6th. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will immediately follow.
