James Roger Burns

In loving memory of James Roger Burns of Brandenburg, Kentucky, who departed this world on March 6, 2026 at the age of 67. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Burns and Eileen Mockbee Burns; his father-in-law Lawrence (Velma Benham); and his siblings, Linda, Suzie Burns, Eddie and Rick Burns.

He is survived by: his caregiver Carla; his children, Jennifer Burns (Michael), Jay Burns (Kayla) and Julie Meiers (Sean); his niece Ginger Miller (Chris); his grandchildren, Susan, Jenna, Emma, Jayson, Allie, Landon, Lincoln, Gunnar, Stella, Roman, Ace, Aden, Ana, Kenny and Ella; his sister Judy Barnett (David); his sister-in-law Allison Cundiff (Terry); his pet Fluffy; and his home health aides, Tiffany and Lauren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hager Funeral Home (633 Bland St, Brandenburg, KY 40108). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the family to aid with expenses, or to the Disabled American Veterans.
