James Ricky Fontenot Obituary March 5, 2026 - Colligan Crematory & Funeral Services

James "Ricky" Fontenot, age 69, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on February 27, 1957, Ricky was a hardworking man who spent much of his life doing what he loved. He worked as a truck driver and also spent many years repairing radiators. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on small engines, always finding satisfaction in fixing things and keeping them running. Ricky was known for his strong work ethic, his mechanical skills, and the pride he took in helping others when something needed to be repaired.More than anything, Ricky loved his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who cherished the time he spent with those closest to him.He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Fontenot; his daughter, Desi Nations and her husband Chris; his son, Cody Fontenot and his wife Amber; his sister, Laura Richard; and his beloved grandchildren, Josilyn Miller, Graysen Fontenot, Kaiden Fontenot, Paisley Nations, Brace Fontenot, and Carlee Nations. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Mae Fontenot and Simon Fontenot. Ricky will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be made directly to the family to assist during this time.
