James Richard Casillas

James Richard Casillas, 39, of San Antonio, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born on March 28, 1986, to Richard Andrew and Melissa Ann Casillas, he was a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend whose warmth touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Urquizo; his parents, Richard and Melissa Casillas; his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Mendoza; his brother, Matthew L. Casillas, and Matthew’s wife, Sara; his nieces, Ellie and Aubrey Casillas; his parents-in-law, Joe and Irma Urquizo; his sister-in-law, Sandra Guerra, and her husband, Stephen; his nephews, Benjamin and Michael Guerra; his aunts and godmothers, Kathryn Malish and Helen Casillas; and many other extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.

James will be remembered for the love he gave so freely and the lasting place he holds in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a family that will carry his memory with them always.
