James Rentfrow

We bid farewell to James Rentfrow of Farina, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 3, 2026 at the age of 76. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Rentfrow and Helen Rentfrow (Williams); his brother-in-law Cecil Quick; and his nephew Ken Schwerman. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Fields; his children, Rebecca Rentfrow, Sara Hunley (Michael Mitchell), Jason Fields, Corey Fields (Alayna) and Josh Hunley; his grandchildren, Weston, Wyatt, Wayde, Logan, Tucker, Tatum and Tully; his sisters, Linda Goldstein (Ralph), Sandy Schwerman (Darrell) and Shelia Rentfrow; and his sister-in-law Shirley Quick. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Southern Baptist Church (400 Adams St, Farina, IL 62838). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Campers on a Mission or First Southern Baptist Church of Farina and will be accepted at the services or at Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home, PO Box 97, Salem, Illinois 62881.
