James “JimBob” Reed, 61, of Oberlin, passed away on March 10, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and close friends, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born on November 18, 1964, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to William “Bill” and Kennethea (Ness) Reed, JimBob graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1984. For 26 years he worked alongside his family at Fred Lewis Septic. A dedicated horseman, he was a member of the Central Ohio Draft Horse Association and a lifetime member of the Percheron Horse Association of America. He found deep joy in showing draft horses, attending fairs, plowing with his teams, and spending time with those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Lewis) Reed; daughters Enchantress (Derek) Brasee and Megan (Joe) Liba; son Derrick (Brittany) Reed; grandchildren Trenton, Alexis, Joleah, Grace, McKenzie, Harper, Isabella, and Wyatt; sister Ruth Ann Kearns; brothers Joe (Sally) Reed and Marty Reed; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Colton Reed, and his sister-in-law Donna Reed.
