James R Troup Jr.

James R. Troup Jr., age 77, of Meadville, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Meadville Medical Center. Born on July 11, 1948, in Meadville to the late James and Catherine (O’Korn) Troup, he graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School in 1966. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970, stationed in Hawaii, and later worked as a railroader for many years until his retirement. He married Sara Andrews on May 11, 1991, and she survives him.

James cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a deep love for his dogs and his grand dogs. A man of faith, he was a longtime member of First Assembly of God in Meadville.

He is survived by his wife, Sara; his four children, Michael Andrews of Meadville, Eric Andrews of Meadville, Nathan Troup of York, and April Andrews of Meadville; two grandchildren, Michaela Andrews and Jaykob Gilson; five great-grandchildren; one grand dog, Katie Bear; and his sister, Jane Lambert of York. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law George Lambert, and his grand dog Calypso.

James was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
