James R. Price

James Rufus Price, 83, of Calhoun Falls, husband of Evelyn Scott Price, died Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home. He was born in Elberton, GA to the late William Rufus and Georgia Mae Rice Price.

James had a long career at the Westpoint Stevens Plant in Calhoun Falls, where he served with unwavering commitment for many years. Outside of work, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He had a passion for riding motorcycles, which allowed him to enjoy the open road and feel the wind against his face. Additionally, he took great pleasure in working outside and gardening. James was of the Holiness faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Albert F. Price and Willie Mae Bass; and his beloved dog, Peanut.

James is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn, of the home; his children, Jerry Price (Tami), Jane Wood (Lewis), Scottie Price (Scarlet) all of Calhoun Falls, SC and Wayne Price (Jeanne) of the Nation Community; three siblings, Tom Price of Lowndesville, Robert Price (Judy), W. L. Price, and Helen Owens, all of Elberton, GA; sister-in-law, Norma Faye Price of Iva; eight grandchildren, Nicole Kimsey (Robby), Brantley Wood (Samantha), Sommer Davis (KC), Zachary Price (Vanessa), Matthew Price (Brittany), Trevor Price (Kayla), Kaleigh Price, and Collin Price (Madison); and twelve great-grandchildren, William Kimsey, MaKayla Kimsey, Kaden Wood, Carter Price, Brielle Wood, Ireland Dunn, Kinley Price, Waylon Price, Callie Wood, Eliza Price, Cori Price, and Wyatt Price.

The family will receive friends 2:30PM – 3:30PM, Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel, 526 E. Savannah Street, Calhoun Falls, SC. Funeral services will begin a 4:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stephen Miller and Rev. John Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
