James “Jim” Price, 62, of Ravenwood, Missouri, passed away on March 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on May 4, 1963, in Maryville, Missouri, to John L. and Phyllis F. Lewis, Jim graduated from Northeast Nodaway High School. A lifelong farmer at heart, he raised Black Angus cattle and pigs on the family homestead while also working for Daltons Hog Farm, Busby’s, COOP, Laclede Chain, and Kawasaki. He was a longtime member of the Sheridan Christian Church, served as Scout Master of Troop 131, was a “Runner” in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say known as Dark Mustang, and belonged to the American Angus Association.
Jim found his greatest joy in his family, especially in being a Papa. He cherished the outdoors, caring for his cows, leading scouts, and deer hunting with loved ones. On November 15, 1997, in Burlington Junction, Missouri, he married Tracie M. Ogle, who survives him at the family home. He is also survived by his children, Stephanie M. Price, Maverick J. Price, Samantha J. (Donte) Peterson, and Shanon R. (Josh) Cook; grandchildren Michaelynn Price, River Peterson, Morgan Cook, Madison Cook, and Mason Cook; great-grandchild Valee Heinz; brother Johnny Price; sister Elaine Coffelt; brother Jeff (Misty) Price; sister Donna (Kevin) Walter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Ashley Price, son Michael Ogle, brother Joe Price, sister-in-law Rita Price, brothers-in-law Tim Coffelt and Christopher Ogle, and his grandparents Perry and Rosella Lewis and John and Florine Price.
