James "Jim" Morris

James Morris, 74, passed away on March 14, 2026, at the Pittsburgh Veterans Hospital, comfortably in his sleep and surrounded by his family.

Jim is survived by his son, Matthew Swick, and Matthew’s mother, Diane Swick. He is also survived by his brother, Ed (Patricia) Morris, sister-in-law Patricia Morris, nieces and nephews Rebecca Weisz, Christopher (Laura) Morris, and Stephen Morris, along with many other friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. Morris Sr. and Margaret (Smarsh) Morris, his brother Charles J. Morris Jr., and his nephew Chuckie Morris.

A United States Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War, Jim was proud of his time aboard the aircraft carrier. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as an officer. Those who knew him will remember him as a cheerful man who was always willing to lend a hand when needed.
