Born on November 28, 1994, in Houston, Texas, James was known for his goofy personality, quick sense of humor, and his remarkable ability to make those around him laugh. He possessed a deep love for music, especially playing the guitar and rocking out to heavy metal. An avid video game enthusiast, he enjoyed sharing that passion with friends and family.

If you were loved by James, you had a steadfast ally. He was a loyal friend, a fierce protector, and someone his people could always count on. His warmth, laughter, and unwavering support left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Tara Holt; his parents, Kerri Carmer-Crabb and her husband Frank Crabb, and Aaron Nelson and his wife Dasha Nelson; his grandparents, Karen Miller, Steve and Cheral Carmer, and Jim and Ann Nelson; and his siblings, Anna, Sarah, Josh, Grace, and Jayden. He also leaves behind three nieces and one nephew, as well as a close group of childhood friends who loved him like a brother. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, lovingly known as “Nanny,” his great-grandfather “Pop,” and his grandmother Rebecca Dubose and her husband.

James will be remembered for his laughter, his music, his loyalty, and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
