Passed March 9, 2026
Bristol, FL
James Marion Duggar of Bristol, Florida, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Calhoun County Hospital, just months after celebrating his 90th birthday. Born in December 1935 in Bristol to Homer and Flossie Duggar, he lived a long and industrious life marked by hard work, quiet generosity, and a deep love for the outdoors.
James and his wife Carolyn shared nearly 56 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. He often spoke of his readiness to join her in heaven, finding comfort in that reunion. In his younger years he helped build the Chattahoochee Dam, and together with his father he constructed the family home where he and Carolyn would spend the rest of their lives. He held a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, but was perhaps best known for his Tupelo honey. For more than 50 years he tended bees and took great delight in giving away jars of honey from the trunk of his car to anyone he cared about, his own joy in the giving often exceeding that of the recipients.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers H.C., Albert, and Tommy Duggar, his sister Linda Faye Summers, and his beloved granddaughter Stacey Duggar. He is survived by his sister Myra (Doug) Goodman, his son Greg Duggar, his granddaughter Stephanie Duggar, and his two great-grandchildren, Cordeliah and Stacey Lee Duggar.
