James M. Buck, Jr.

November 20, 1934 March 5, 2026

Lancaster, MA

James M. Buck, Jr., 91, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 5, 2026. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Georgia (DeForge) Buck; his children, James Buck III and wife Amy Cherubino, Jackie Buck, Judith Keyes and husband David, Brian Jacobson, and Pamela Ashman; grandchildren, Jared Keyes, Nate Keyes, Olivia Keyes, Jonah Keyes, Nicholas Ashman, Dustin Ashman, Stephanie Ashman, and Kalie Kennedy and spouse Felicia; great-grandchildren, Lily Vogt, Maizy West, and Finn West; and generations of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sylvia (Gariepy) Buck; siblings, Claire O'Malley and Dottie McMahon; and son-in-law, Dan West.

Born and raised in Clinton, James was the son of the late James and Regina (Antonio) Buck. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1952 and earned an Associate’s Degree from Worcester School of Business in 1955. He proudly served in the United States Army before returning home to join the family business, ER Buck Chair Co., where he worked as a third-generation owner until his retirement in 2001. Deeply committed to his community, he served as a Selectman for the Town of Lancaster and successfully advocated for legislation to provide benefits to the families of part-time firefighters who died in the line of duty.

A man of strong faith, James maintained a lifelong relationship with Jesus and volunteered alongside his great-granddaughter Lily at WHEAT Community Connections. He was an enthusiastic sports fan who served as President of the Lancaster Hockey Association during his son’s playing years, remained a devoted Boston sports supporter, and enjoyed the game of cornhole. Above all, his greatest joy was his family, especially the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend to all.
