His sister Shirley completed their family soon after.Their family made several moves while Dad was growing up, eventually making Glendive their home, where he graduated from Dawson County High School with the class of 1952. Following his graduation, Dad attended Montana State College in Bozeman, Montana earning a bachelor's degree in industrial arts in 1956. Shortly after graduation Dad married his sweetheart, Marcella (Marci) Kahl, on June 14, 1956, in Wibaux, Montana. To this union they welcomed eight children.Dad and Mom moved to Renton, Washinton where Dad worked for Boeing Aircraft for a year before deciding to move back home to Glendive. Dad started working for his dad at Gate City Electric. He purchased the family-owned business in 1969 and continued to own and operate until 1985 when he chose to close the business and he went to work for Short Electric. Dad then joined his brother-in-law in California as an electrician for a couple of years until returning to Glendive as an electrician for BNSF Railroad. He worked there until his retirement in 2000.Along with enjoying a "cold one" with family and friends he will be remembered fondly for his great sense of humor, his amazing ability to remember and tell jokes, his endless menagerie of one liners and sayings, and his love of tinkering at his workbench; he never backed down from the challenge of fixing broken electronics for us kids and his grandkids. Dad loved fishing, hunting, and designing computer programs for his personal computer, we still don't know if any of them actually worked!Survivors left to feel his love like a warm hug include his cherished wife of 69 years, Marci and his treasured children, Michelle (Larry) Hegel, Mari (Doug) Brant, James Wiseman, John (Dee) Wiseman, Robert (Jennell) Wiseman all of Glendive, Debra (Tim) O'Brien of Mayville, North Dakota and Danielle (Mike) Leshovsky of St. Michael, Minnesota: twenty-three grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild along with many relatives and friends.Waiting for him in Heaven are his daughter Veronica "Ronnie" Wiseman, his parents, Jim Sr. and Florence, his sisters, Helen Tague and Shirley Lassle, his great grandson Whelan Louser and countless in-laws and out-laws.Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at: www.silhafuneralhomes.com.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
