James Lashley

James Lashley, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Fredericktown, Missouri.

Born on May 16, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Howard Lashley and Corine (Walther) Lashley, James grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and hands-on pursuits. On May 16, 1977, in Poplar Bluff, he married Judy Kelley, beginning a life together that spanned nearly five decades. He found joy in fishing and camping, restoring old cars, and savoring good food, but nothing meant more to him than the time spent with his family.

James is survived by his wife, Judy Lashley; his son, Gary Shearon; his daughter, Amanda Lashley; his brother, Vance Lashley; his sister, Brenda Bjorneby; and his granddaughter, Kaylee Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Corine Lashley. He leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends who will remember his steady presence and quiet love for life’s simple pleasures.
