James L. Mendlik

James L. Mendlik, 93, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2026. Born on July 23, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, Jim built a long and respected career as a master building contractor. He took genuine pleasure in working with people, sharing his love of ballroom dancing, and tending to his property.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Patsy; his sister, Barbara Carson of Fargo, North Dakota; his daughters, Renee Dunnington, Michelle Beam, and Jenna Hill; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jay Todd Mendlik. Throughout his life, he formed many deep and lasting friendships through his work, dancing, and his kind and generous nature.

Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
