James L. Huggins

James L. Huggins passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 73.

He is survived by his daughters, Tonya Pearce and her husband David, and Tiffney Donaldson and her husband Nicholas. James was a proud and loving grandfather to four grandchildren—Chandler Bowers, Gracen Pearce, Saige Pearce, and Colt Donaldson—who brought him endless joy. He delighted in spoiling them whenever he could. He is also survived by his sisters, Annmarie Gibson and Sandy Bevel, his special aunt Sally Hewitt Joye, his cousin Rebecca Bereshkovsky, and his niece Danell. James was married to Tammy Adams Huggins, the mother of his daughters.

James proudly served in the United States Coast Guard before building a respected career in the elevator trade, where he worked for many years until his retirement. He had a deep love for music, especially the songs of Jimmy Buffett, and cherished the simple moments spent surrounded by family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gary L. Huggins and Annie M. Huggins of Myrtle Beach, and his two brothers, Danny Huggins and Jackie Huggins. James will be remembered for his hard work, his dedication to his family, and the many warm memories he created with those who loved him.
