James L. Ambler, 79, of Stafford Springs, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2026. Born in Marshall, Michigan, on May 14, 1946, to Leo and Daurel (Anderson) Ambler, Jim graduated from Marshall High School, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America. He went on to serve his country with distinction as a sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970.
Jim built a long and respected career as a skilled technician. He worked as a Heat Treat Technician and Quality Control Assurance Inspector for Eaton Corporation’s Fluid Power Division and later for Union Pump Company in Battle Creek, Michigan. He retired from Pratt & Whitney as a Lead Materials Technician, where his work supported both military and space program applications.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kulli (Saimra) Ambler; his son, Leo Ambler; his daughter, Brianna Olivier, and her husband Christian; his granddaughter, Arabella Skye Olivier; his brother, Robert Ambler, and Robert’s wife Lori; his sister, Beverly Michael; and many nieces and nephews. Jim will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, brother, and friend whose quiet strength and love for his family remain his greatest legacy.
