James Kern ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 9, 2026.James K. Kern, 88, of Eden Prairie, went to his loving Lord on March 3, 2026 at Centennial House in Apple Valley, MN. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.He was born on May 2, 1937, to William and Katherine (Fury) Kern in Waseca, MN.He graduated from Montevideo High School and St. Cloud State College with a degree in Music Education. He taught music for several years but found his true passion in computer sales.He married Janice Kell in 1959 and they later divorced. They were blessed with three children, David, Bradley and Tanya. He later married Pauline Newton in 2012.Jim is survived by his wife; son, Bradley; daughter, Tanya; daughter-in-law, Pam McCarthy-Kern; sisters, Kathleen (John) Radmer and Karen (Bradley) Ziemkowski; brothers, Jerome Kern and Michael Kern, Melissa (Dan) Kishish, Randall Ripp, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; brothers, Patrick, John, Robert and Richard.A private family service will be held in the Spring.Legacy.com reports daily on death announcements in local communities nationwide.
