James Kenneth "Kenny" Blake

James Kenneth Blake, known affectionately as Kenny, passed away at his home in Weems, Virginia, on March 11, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on December 4, 1942, to the late James Norman and Virginia Somers Blake, Kenny graduated from Lancaster High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a longtime member of the Lancaster County Lions Club.

Kenny dedicated 26 years of his career to Safeway and another 29 years as produce manager at Tri-Star. He shared 57 years of marriage with his wife, Andy, and was a devoted father to his son, Kenneth Harris Blake and his wife Kelley. He cherished his role as grandfather to James Dylan Blake and Kylie Addison Blake.

Preceded in death by his parents and sisters Connie B. Godwin and Janice B. Lee, Kenny is survived by his sisters Carolyn B. Franklin, Linda B. Kellum and her husband Joe, and Trudi B. Haynie and her husband Andy, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember his steady presence and kind heart.
