September 15, 1971— March 11, 2026
Falls City, NE
James Harold “Dinger” Reynolds of Falls City, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 54.
Born on September 15, 1971, in Waukegan, Illinois, to James Donald and Cynthia Ann Weaver Reynolds, Dinger moved with his family to Hiawatha, Kansas, as a toddler. He graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1989. A proud Marine, he enlisted on May 1, 1990, and was discharged as a Lance Corporal on September 10, 1991. Upon returning to Brown County, he married Cynthia Annette Chandler on September 15, 1995, in Hiawatha. Together they made their home in Hiawatha and later Falls City, where they raised their family.
Dinger carried a strong work ethic throughout his life. Following in his mother’s footsteps, he developed a deep respect for law enforcement, serving first as a reserve officer and then as a jailer for the Brown County Sheriff’s Department. He later worked at Walmart for ten years, at Store Kraft wood products, in Walmart’s in-store planning department for five years, in maintenance at Casino White Cloud, and in security at Highland Community College. He found joy in fishing, hunting, woodworking, crafting, spending time with his grandchildren, and cheering on Raider football.
He is survived by his wife Cindy; their children Samantha (JT) Tisdel, David J. Reynolds, and Dillon Shafer; and three grandchildren, Cassidy, Charlotte, and Damon Tisdel. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sheila Reynolds.
