James Gordon Davis

James Gordon Davis, 65, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on December 24, 1960, he was the son of George Samuel and Constance (Pagan) Davis.

A dedicated diesel mechanic for his entire career, James began working at the age of 19 at MDR in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and retired in 2024 from Timmons Trucking Company in Jonesboro. He was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother who cherished time with those he loved. In 1993, he married the love of his life, Rhonda Woodward, and together they created 33 years of cherished memories while raising their five children.

James found great joy in stock car racing alongside his brother Jimmy at Crowley's Ridge Raceway, as well as camping at the river and spending time with friends and family. He held dear his many friends from River Bend, whom he considered family, including Frankie and Darlene Thrasher.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; his children, Carl (Stephanie) Williams of Thayer, Missouri, Dawn (Danny) Knapp of Lees Summit, Missouri, Stephanie (Timothy) Bell of Williford, Arkansas, Amanda Buckley of Harrisburg, Arkansas, and Samantha Jones of Harrisburg, Arkansas; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Mary (Bill) Loucks of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Cathy Anderson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kay Gambill of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Sue (Kenny) Sharp of Brookland, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Jimmy Dale Davis, Patricia Orr, Charles Davis, Tommy Davis, Inez Hayes, Doris Jean Davis, Wilma Faye Davis, and Leon Davis.
