James Florine1950 - 2026James A. Florine, 76, of Deer River, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026.Born January 16, 1950, in Red Wing, MN, to Bette and Elmer (Leroy) Florine. Jim grew up in Jackson, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1968. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.Jim loved hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. He especially liked fishing and camping at Lake of the Woods. He raised many Golden Retrievers, training them to become wonderful companions and hunters.Jim also loved music. He played in bands over the years and was proud of his vintage guitars. Jim had a big heart, a great sense of humor and making people laugh.He is preceded in death by his parents, Bette and Elmer Florine. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Mornes; aunt, Marianne (Glenn) Anderson; sisters, Janet (Kent) Johnson, Linda (Paul) Roggow, and Heather (Craig) Peterson; nieces, nephews, and cousins.A memorial gathering for Jim will be held at a later date.Arrangements are with Rowe Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Grand Rapids, MN.
