James Elza Cochran

James Elza Cochran, age 75, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his residence.

Born in Gilmer County on November 30, 1950, he was the son of the late Elijah Cochran and the late Claire Melinda Baker Cochran. James found deep joy in playing his guitar, singing, and exploring the quiet depths of cave diving. A man of Christian faith, he lived a life marked by the simple pleasures that brought him peace and fulfillment.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Postelle and her husband Fred of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Lynda Cochran of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Cierra Cochran, Cody Banks, Braydon Banks, Mason Roberson, Jada Evans, and Jaden Evans; the mother of his daughters, Pamela Mulkey; and two great-grandchildren, Tara Roberson and Willow Banks.
