He was born on September 14, 1937 in Watsonville, CA. Raised in Livingston, CA, Jim met and married his wife of 58 years, Marilyn, in San Francisco and lived several years in San Jose before settling in Prunedale for the past four decades. After retiring from a career in banking, Jim & Marilyn enjoyed travelling throughout the US and overseas. He was a member of the Madonna del Sasso parish and former member of the Lions Clubs in San Jose & Prunedale. Jim is survived by his wife Marilyn McCoun, sons, Phil McCoun and Paul McCoun (Melissa), grandson, Evren McCoun, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Maurie Klimcheck and Dolores Keswick, brother Dick McCoun, and daughter, Jennifer McCoun. Viewing and Rosary: April 6, 2026, 1:00 pm -5:00 pm at Healey Mortuary 405 Sanborn Road in Salinas. Mass: April 7, 2026, 10:00 am at Madonna del Sasso Church 320 E.
