James Gore ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Luginbuel Funeral Home on Mar. 2, 2026.James Edward (Eddie) Gore, 74, of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1951, to James Wesley Gore and Mary Ida Matter Gore. "A life lived in love leaves a legacy that never fades."Eddie married the love of his life, Marilyn Joyce Koren, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1996, beginning a lifelong partnership built on deep devotion, laughter, and unwavering love.Eddie was an avid outdoorsman whose name frequently appeared in record books as he pursued his passion for bowhunting across Kansas and Arkansas. He cast his lines in the waters of Costa Rica, Alaska, Hawaii, Cabo, and many other locations throughout the continental United States, always chasing the next sunrise with a fishing rod in hand and a heart full of adventure. No matter how far his travels took him, he remained devoted to his roots, proudly continuing the family tradition as a second-generation cattle farmer. He graduated from Farmington High School in 1969 and, with determination, entered the Engineering and Surveying program at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. As a civil engineer and surveyor, he poured his heart into his work, helping shape the landscapes of Alaska, Colorado, and Northwest Arkansas. The features and infrastructure he designed stand today as a quiet testament to his skill, dedication, and the countless miles he walked in service of building something lasting.Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Gore of Farmington, who stood faithfully by his side through every joy and challenge. He is also survived by two bonus sons he cherished as his own: Michael Scott Wilson and his wife, Angel, of Little Rock, and Christopher Brian Wilson and his wife, Afton, of Ozark, Arkansas; his younger sister, Sandra Maxwell of Garden Grove, California; Sandra's children, Candice Eno of Henderson, Nevada, and Dan Maxwell; and Wanda Sue's son, Marty Dennis of Rogers. Each of them carries forward his love, his stories, and the pieces of his life he shared so generously, along with the grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends who brought light and laughter into his world. As the family reflects on his life, they hold close the truth that "true love does not end; it simply changes form and lives on in the hearts it touched."Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley and Mary Ida Gore; his sister, Wanda Sue; and his nephew, David Maxwell. Their memories, forever woven into the fabric of his life, now welcome him home.He will be laid to rest at the Farmington, Arkansas, cemetery beside his parents. Funeral services will be held at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends will gather to honor a life so deeply loved. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
