James Edward Coker

James Edward Coker, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on March 11, 2026, at his home.

Born to James T. Coker and MaryLou Sosebee Coker, James proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked for many years in the heating and air profession, earning a reputation for his strong work ethic, reliability, and readiness to help others. Above all, he was a devoted family man who deeply cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding his greatest joy in the time spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Grant Coker and Roy Coker.

James is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Coker; his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Becky Coker of Dalton; his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Wayne Cline of Acworth; grandchildren Andrew (Kelsi) Cline, Ben (Leighanna) Coker, and Sarah (Dominick) Dukes; and great-grandchildren Ryan Coker, Ava Neff, Pandora Cline, Holden Coker, Mason Dukes, and Abby Cline. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. In keeping with his wishes, his family will gather privately at a later time to spread his ashes over the mountains and lakes he loved so dearly. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
