James Don "Jimmy or JD" Priour Jr.

James Don Priour, Jr., known lovingly as Jimmy or JD, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 63 in Brazoria, Texas, with his wife by his side. Born on April 28, 1962, in Victoria, Texas, to Margie Frazer Priour and James Don Priour Sr., Jimmy built a lifelong career as a pipefitter and superintendent with Zachry and Calpine Corporation. His work took him across North America as he helped construct power plants, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him.

In June 2002, Jimmy met the love of his life, Cheryl Stine, and they married on June 12, 2009. He took great pride in his role as “Paw Paw,” cherishing every moment with his grandchildren. Jimmy loved the outdoors, finding joy in fishing, hunting, and camping with family. In his later years, he was happiest sitting on the sidelines, cheering for his grandchildren at their sports events.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl; his daughters, Amy (Kevin) Benton, Wendy Priour, Randi (Edward) Wilcox, Tiffany (Jeremy) Harper, Rachel (Skye) Wingo, and Roselyne and Sospeter Wandai; his grandchildren, Kiersten Allen, Travis (Baylee) Benton, Chloe Benton, Brooke Benton, Ryan Wade Gorman II, Alexis Harper, Aiden (Cheska) Harper, Ava Harper, Emily Harper, Whitley Wingo, Weston Wingo, Kate Wilcox, Henry Wilcox, Scarlet Wilcox, Ezra Wandai, and Alianna Wandai; and two great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is also survived by his brothers, David (Pam) Priour and Robert (Theresa) Priour, his sister, Judy (Howard) Harvell-Ross, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margie Frazer Priour and Jim Priour, his mother-in-law, Laura June Stine, and his beloved uncles, Charles (Cubby) Frazer and Joseph (Gene) Frazer, whom he regarded as fathers.
