James Dennis Roseman

James Dennis Roseman

Woodland, WA

James Dennis Roseman, known to all as Jim, passed away on March 9, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family. Born on January 19, 1952, to Evelyn and Wayne Roseman, Jim spent most of his adult life living, working, and raising his family in Humboldt County, California.

After graduating from Arcata High School in 1970, he served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter. He then joined the Presidio Fire Department in San Francisco, where he served for ten years and formed lifelong friendships. Jim held a deep and abiding love for San Francisco, especially evident in his lifelong devotion to the Giants and the 49ers. He continued following their games with great enthusiasm until the very end, often receiving score updates from his children, to whom he proudly passed on that same passion.

In the early 1990s, Jim returned to Eureka and spent more than twenty-five years driving truck for Bettendorf Trucking, Sierra Pacific Industries, and Humboldt Sanitation, while also helping his wife Linda operate her restaurant, V&N Burger Bar in Arcata. In 2017, he and Linda retired and moved to Woodland, Washington, to be closer to family. Above all, Jim cherished his family. He loved them fiercely and without restraint, a devotion that defined his life more than anything else.

He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Linda; his children, Jeremy Mills (Shelia), Mattie Roseman Garner (Alex), and Wyatt Roseman (Christina); his grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Madison, and Quinten; and his brothers, Jerry (Donna) and Noel (Cindy) Roseman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Evelyn Roseman.
