James (Jim) DeMarco is now reunited with his two precious sons, Michael and Nathaniel.A lifelong Monaca boy, Jim is the son of the late Nazareth and Helen Soos Demarco. Born on June 7, 1952, he attended Monaca High School graduating in 1970. Jim was fortunate enough to recently attend his 55th class reunion in late September, 2025, for a night filled reminiscing with friends and former classmates.Upon graduating, Jim joined the US Air Force serving from 1970 to 1974. He was formerly employed by the Social Security Administration in Pittsburgh, and then he was transferred into the Postal Service working his way into a management position at the Sheffield branch until the time of his retirement.In his spare time Jim had a love of photography and enjoyed taking pictures for many weddings and the Monaca Hall of Fame. Jim was a sports fanatic who refereed football for over 30 years. In addition, he refereed girls' volleyball and was a baseball umpire. Jim was a member of the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame for 37 years and a former member of the SOI, the American Legion and VFW in Monaca as well as the Sokol Club. He loved his dog, Waffles. Jim was an all-round nice guy with a heart of gold willingly giving you the shirt off his back!Jim was a true believer in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He relished spreading God's word and reciting his favorite Bible verses.Jim married Patricia Petrella, his true soulmate and love of his life. They were blessed with two sons Michael who passed in January, 1993, at the age of 12 and Nathaniel who passed in January, 2015, at the age of 30. Jim and Patty filled their home with love and joy and traveled extensively with their sons in spite of Michael's illness.Jim is survived by his wife Patty. In addition, he leaves behind his niece and her husband Kelly Ann Pennington and Rob, nephew Paul Joseph Demarco and two great nephews, Bradley and Michael Margetts as well as a sister-in-law Rosemary Trella. Jim had many loving and close friends and relatives who were active participants in his care during his illness for which Patty will be eternally grateful.Predeceasing Jim were his parents, his in-laws Presto and Mary Jane (Scialdone) Petrella and a sister-in-law, Linda Petrella (Eder), A sister, Michelle Bittner, and a brother Paul DeMarco, as well as his sons Michael & Nathaniel.Friends will be received on Sunday, March 15th from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, PA (724) 728 4000 where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Tony Cortese of Living Water Baptist Church, Ellwood City, officiating.
