James David Odom

James David Odom, age 87, of Eastman, Georgia, passed away on March 10, 2026, at his residence.

Born in Eastman on April 19, 1938, to Dovie Alligood Odom and Eugene Douglas Odom, James was a lifelong resident of Dodge County. A man of Baptist faith, he worked for more than thirty years as a baker with Colonial Baking Company in Macon. He found great joy in hunting during his younger days, fishing, and following wrestling. An avid animal lover, he rescued many dogs over the years and cared for them with quiet devotion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Dallas Odom, Henry Odom, Nancy Odom Howell, and three infant siblings.

James is survived by his wife of fifty years, Judy Ann Schreiber Odom of Eastman; his daughter, Patricia Elaine Reyes of Converse, Texas; his sons, Doug Odom of Adrian and David Odom of Eastman; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild expected in September; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
