James David Newell Sr., 82, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsburgh to Bill and Virginia (Moorehead) Newell, Jim worked for many years as a power plant operator for Duquesne Light. He was known for his strength and sharp wit.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol (Geyer) Newell, and his grandson, Dylan Ryan Newell. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jim cherished every moment spent with his family.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly (Ken) Walsh, Heather (Steven) Sinagra, and James (Megan) Newell, and his grandchildren, Kaela Walsh, Kathryn Walsh, Peyton Sinagra, Carly Sinagra, Devin Newell, and Delanie Newell.
