James Claude touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen Cromwell; his parents, Jeanetta Moore and Claude Cromwell; his sister Barbra; his brother-in-law Bill Lambdon; and his niece Kimberly Parton.

He is survived by: his son Chris; his daughter-in-law Sarah Cromwell; his grandchildren, Payton and Abby Cromwell; and his niece Keeley Stephens.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Trinity Chapel (1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803). A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Cemetery (2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803).

James had a passion for youth sports specifically accessibility, he absolutely could not stand to see a kid left out simply because their family couldn't afford it. so, In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite youth sports team or directly to the family to give to future athletes.
