James Charles Moranville was born on March 24, 1937, in Perryville, Missouri, to Anthony and Lunette Moranville (née Jannin). He passed away on March 10, 2026, in Washington, Missouri, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norma (Nixon) Moranville; and his siblings, Mary Lou, Hilda, Rose, and Tony.
Jim grew up in Perryville and pursued his passion for education, earning a Master’s Degree from Southeast Missouri State University. He taught high school mathematics for thirty years, first at Lafayette High School in Wildwood and later at Eureka High School. He lived for many years on a hilltop farm in Sullivan with his wife Norma, where he raised cattle and found great joy in the outdoors and in caring for his animals. A longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, he remained devoted to his faith throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hanebrink, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Jim and Jane shared many happy travels together, especially to Florida. He was known for his easy smile, warm laugh, and love of card games. Above all, those who knew him will remember his kind and generous spirit and the quiet pleasure he took in spending time with the people he cared about.
