He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Plazek and Mary Plazek (Conrad). He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Plazek (Conrad); his children, James M. Plazek (Sandra), Karen Ann Plazek, Kevin Plazek (Sandi), Cindy Eckenrode (Rick) and Joseph Plazek (Kristy); and his brothers, Ted Plazek (Theresa) and Leo Plazek. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Houser Funeral Home (301 Church St, Gallitzin, PA 16641). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (211 Powell Ave, Cresson, PA 16630).
