James Burns Pardue, Jr., 79, of High Point, passed away, Friday, February 27, 2026, at his home.

Born March 13, 1946, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late James Burns Pardue, Sr. and the late Virginia Hayworth Pardue. He was a brick and stone mason for many years. James was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He loved beach music, a good card game and most of all he loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. He had a really big heart.

He is survived by wife of 57 years, Linda Pardue of the home; son, Jim Pardue of High Point; daughter, Tonya Yates of High Point; sisters, Karen Hannah of High Point and Teresa Brown (Bill) of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Abby Pardue (Gabe), Ginger Pardue, Olive Pardue, Jacob Pardue, Tyler Yates (Myami), Amanda Yates, Autumn Kelly (Duncan) and Brittany Fleisher (Jess); great grandson, Damon Fleisher; uncle, Bobby “BJ” Hayworth (Mary Jane); brother in law, David Penley (Beth); sister in law, Debbie P Jones-Justice (Chris); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Wright Funerals-Cremations, in the High Point Chapel with Pastor Michael Mabe officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Tunnel to Towers or Disabled American Veterans.
