James Burkel, age 74, of Roseville, passed away on March 7, 2026. He was the son of the late Norbert and Denise Burkel.
Jim is survived by his brother Gary (Nora) Burkel, his sisters Barbara (Don) Niewolak and Laurie (late John) Kalson, and was preceded in death by his brother Deny (Geri) Burkel. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
A graduate of St. Anthony High School class of 1970, Jim worked in construction and retail stock. A quiet and kind man who kept to himself, he found joy in sports, particularly cheering on the Detroit Tigers.
He is no longer suffering.
