He leaves behind his spouse of 10 years, Paul Michael Ligotino, his mother, Donna Shaffer Burk, his sister, Tricia Burk Briley and husband Jamie, nieces, Alexis Briley Woosley and husband Tyler, and Kayla Brooke Briley and husband Alec. He also leaves behind many in his extended family, and their sweet dog, Velma.He is preceded in death by his father, James Arthur Burk Sr.Jimmy was born in Rockford, Illinois, on March 21, 1972. He moved to Farmville, North Carolina as a young boy in 1975. Jimmy graduated from Farmville Central High School with the Class of 1990. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration from East Carolina University.Jimmy spent his career with First Union / Wachovia / Wells Fargo with his most recent role as a Network Engineering Associate Manager.Jimmy had a very infectious love of life. He loved flowers and gardening, cooking, entertaining, and traveling. He had an appreciation for art and music. He loved being around people. He was funny, kind, compassionate and will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at The Pavilion at The Angus Barn in Raleigh, North Carolina.
