James Alan Cothran

James Alan Cothran, affectionately known as Jamie, was born on March 1, 1963, in Trenton, Michigan, to Lacy and Virginia (Wallace) Cothran. He passed away on March 4, 2026.

For many years, Jamie worked as a mold maker for an automotive engineering company, where his dedication and craftsmanship earned him the lasting respect of his colleagues. A passionate sports fan, he faithfully followed all the Detroit teams and found great joy in the thrill of the game. He also cherished traveling with his family and visiting the casino, where he delighted in the excitement of the games.

Above all, Jamie was a devoted grandfather who proudly cheered on his granddaughter, Alexis, at every softball game, happily serving as her number one fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Virginia Cothran, and his siblings Connie, Brenda, Timothy, and Charlene.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Marissa (Tim Klonica) Cothran, and his cherished granddaughter, Alexis. Jamie is also survived by his siblings Donna (Tim) Bemis, Kathy Moss, David Cothran, and brother-in-law Bill Perdue, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
