James A. Klein

1957 — 2026

Holly, MI

James A. Klein, known affectionately as Dawg, passed away surrounded by the deep love of his family. A devoted husband, father, Oppa, and DA, he lived a life defined by his steadfast commitment to those he loved, his quiet strength, and his genuine kindness.

He shared nearly 49 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lisa Klein of Holly, Michigan. Together they built a home filled with partnership, laughter, and family. James was a proud and caring father to Jonathon Klein (Crystal) of Holly, Joshua Klein (Karissa) of Holly, and Julie Norman (Brad) of Lady Lake, Florida. He was an incredibly proud Oppa to his cherished grandchildren Ashley, Olivia, Joshua, Zac, Justin, Ava, Ella, Harper, Gwen, Destiny, and her daughter Hazel, who filled his days with joy.

Over the years, James welcomed many adopted children—friends, neighbors, and loved ones—who found in him a father figure and a permanent place in his heart. He worked for nearly 35 years as a forklift driver for General Motors, where his strong work ethic and reliability were well known. In his free time, he found great peace and pleasure in hunting and gardening, often sharing these passions with family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Kathleen Klein, his twin brother Johnny, his older brother Kevin, and his younger brother Douglas. He is survived by his siblings David, Kathy, Paul, and Donald, along with many nieces and nephews. His warmth, guidance, and unwavering support will be deeply missed, but his legacy endures through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched with generosity and humor.
