He was only 28 years old, yet in that short time, he lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.J was someone who truly embraced life. He was always up for an adventure, whether that meant exploring new places or trying new foods. He had a curious spirit and a love for experiencing everything life had to offer. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, hobbies that brought him peace and joy.He was a devoted uncle who cherished every moment spent with his nieces and nephews. He loved teaching them new things, sharing his favorite hobbies, and creating memories they will carry with them forever.Known for his lively personality, J, had a way of making everyone laugh-even when his jokes didn't quite land. His humor, his energy, and his presence could light up any room. He was full of life and love, and he cared deeply for others. Even if he had only just met you, he made you feel like family.He is survived by his mother: Yesenia Veronica Araguz and step-mother: Cristina Fuentes; two sisters: Ramona Araguz and Robyn Araguz; uncles: Stevie Araguz, Aaron Araguz, and Feliz (Ruby) Tijerina; aunt: Annette (Robert) Martinez; nieces and nephews: Adrian, Matthew, Ryan, Sofia, and Ellie; cousins: Jesus and Ethan.He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Blanca Hilda and Mateo Araguz, Clemente and Edna May Chong and aunt: Josephine Tijerina.Family meant everything to him. He always made time for his loved ones, making sure everyone around him was smiling, laughing, and taken care of. His kindness, warmth, and selflessness will never be forgotten.Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen.
