Jacquelyne Marie Wells

Jacquelyne “Jackie” Marie Wells, beloved wife of Michael Wells, passed away at her home in Winder on March 12, 2026, at the age of 73 following a massive stroke after a long battle with cancer.

Born on July 15, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jackie was the daughter of Richard Earl Crater and Dorothy Mackey. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School before moving to California, where she worked as Computer Operations Manager for Ketema. She later relocated to Georgia and became an antique dealer. Thirty-nine and a half years ago, she met Michael at an Irish pub in San Diego. What began with her inviting him to play pool grew into a lifetime of marital bliss. Michael often said they gained each other, and he was blessed to also gain her 16-year-old daughter.

Jackie’s life reflected love, strength, and quiet grace. She held a special affection for babies and children and faced her illness with remarkable courage. Her gentle presence and enduring love remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Michael, of Winder; her daughter, Jennifer Hanna, of California; five grandchildren, Alex, David, Vincent, Nathalia, and Anthony; her sister, Diana Nettersheim; her brother, Richard Crater; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Earl Crater and Dorothy Mackey, and her sister, Patti Buirge.
