She was the daughter of Gilbert Coverdale and Eunice Coverdale, who both preceded her in death.Jackie moved to New York in 1957 and received her education through the Yonkers public school system. She graduated from Yonkers High School.Jackie married Oscar L. Vance Jr. (deceased) in the 1970's. Out of this union came two loving and devoted children: Amy D. Weatherspoon and Oscar L. Vance III (Hollywood).She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.She worked multiple jobs, however she retired from the Greyston Bakery. She enjoyed dancing, crime shows, boxing, basketball, game shows and spending time with family and friends. She was the neighborhood mother to many. She was kind and generous, but also sassy.In 2024, she moved to Waxahachie, Texas to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She joined One Church and served on the First Impressions Ministry.She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Amy Weatherspoon (Randall); one son Oscar Vance (Yenita); one grandson, Kaheem Vance; two granddaughters, Beautiful Vance and Aariyana Vance; two sisters, Mylo Townsend and Henrietta Freeman; two brothers, Roosevelt Hines (Barbara) and Michael Alexander (Patricia); one brother-in-law, Reginal Graham, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.Matthew 11:28-30"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
