Jacqueline “Jackie” Stoecker, 85, of Grand Island died Friday, March 13, 2026, at Heritage at Sagewood. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Island. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery at Atkinson, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Online condolences may be directed to www.apfelfuneralhome.com.
Jackie was born on August 16, 1940, in Valentine, NE to Echo and Katherine (Bailey) Mizner. She grew up in Valentine graduating from Valentine High School.
On October 7, 1958, Jackie was united in marriage to Neil Stoecker at Valentine, NE. They lived in various places during their early marriage and finally made Grand Island their home. She worked for the Grand Island school district in food service for many years.
She was a member of the Izaak Walton League and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jackie enjoyed family get togethers, riding bikes with her grandchildren, camping, and traveling. She also enjoyed serving and helping others.
Survivors include children: Vicki Stoecker of Grand Island, Neil (Mary) Stoecker of Conroe, TX, Jeremy (Sarah) Stoecker of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Travis (Krista), Lucas, Dylan, Kacey, Charles, Gabriella, Jaxson; great grandchildren: Elliotte and Callum; siblings: Merlin Mizner, Malvern (Sharon) Mizner, and Noreen Cross.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neil in 2023; son, Michael; brothers: Harley and Jimmy Dean; and brother-in-law, Richard Cross.
